Different stem cells can be derived from embryos, umbilical- cord blood and the plancenta and adult tissues.
Embryonic stem cells come from human eggs fertilised in vitro out of the body as part of infertility treatment. Some Embroyos may remains after a women become pregnant, and are provided for research with the concent of the donors. Embryonic stem cells can differentiate into any type of cell in the body.
